EXPRESS New York City Showroom.
Taking you back to early September during New York Fashion Week, an experience that I’ve been planning to share with you for so long! Waiting for the right timing for when I could capture and share my outfit I wore on the day, I am thrilled to now share about the fabulous meeting we had with the EXPRESS team at the EXPRESS New York City Showroom!
If you follow me on Instagram, you might have spotted me here on my way to the EXPRESS showroom. During the visit, I had the opportunity to meet with EXPRESS’ Vice President of Women’s Design, Nicholas Wheatley. One of the things I loved about our visit was seeing the passion and excitement in Nicholas for the brand and his designs. EXPRESS is an accessible and wearable brand for the stylish woman, and Nicholas knows how to achieve this in his collections every season. Speaking of the collections, Nicholas shared that for the upcoming holiday season we can expect to see a play on textures including lace, feathers, and sequins. Nicholas was spot-on by saying that coats are big this season and EXPRESS is the perfect go-to for our coat needs. We can also expect to see some plaids and biker jackets for that moto appeal.
When I asked Nicholas where he gets his design inspiration, I was pleasantly surprised to hear that one of his inspiration sources is fashion bloggers! So neat to see a brand that embraces street style and values fashion bloggers as a creative source!
Following this inspiring chat with Nicholas, we had the opportunity to tour the EXPRESS showroom. We strolled through the design floor and watched the creative team in action as they were bouncing ideas for the Spring collection and reviewing fabrics for their selections.
Walking away from this experience, I have much appreciation for what goes into developing collections each season, and I have even more appreciation for EXPRESS and their contribution to the fashion industry, a brand that many of us identify with!
